Connex South Eastern was a franchise running from 13th October 1996 until 8th November 2003.
On 27 June 2003 the
SRA decided to terminate Connex South Eastern's franchise citing poor financial management & run the franchise itself. Connex South Eastern continued to operate the franchise until 8 November 2003 with the services transferring to the
SRAs South Eastern Trains subsidiary the following day.
Connex South Central ran from 26th May 1996 until 25th August 2001. It too was terminated early due to poor financial performance. Govia had been awarded the franchise by the SRA with the intention to take over from 2003. However, Govia reached an agreement with Connex to take over from August 2001.
